A MINOR reshuffling at the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) was implemented by its director Colonel Henry Biñas, affecting two police officials effective Wednesday, May 27.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Thursday, May 28, Police Captain Armilyn Vargas, chief of Police Station 10, was reassigned to Police Station 8 replacing its officer-in-charge Police Executive Master Sergeant Voltaire Sy effective May 27.

He said Vargas’s post was also occupied by Police Major Ruel Culanag, of BCPO Admin Section, while Sy returned to BCPO Admin Section.

Pico noted that Sy was only a temporary officer-in-charge of Police Station 8 after the relieved of its former chief Major Charles Gever, who’s now the chief of Police Station 4.

“Our police stations should be led by a police official and the rank of Sy is still Executive Master Sergeant,” Pico said.

Last week, Police Major Reynante Jomocan, chief of Police Station 4, was also relieved from his post and was replaced by Gever.

Jomocan was reassigned to Iloilo City Police Station.

Pico said it’s only normal to the members of the Philippine National Police to be reassigned to other places anytime. (MAP)
