A SMALL town lottery (STL) bet collector was shot to death by unidentified assailants in Purok Fatima 2, Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City Wednesday evening, October 28, 2020.

Police identified the fatality as Gaudioso Empase, 53, of SP Village, Barangay Pahanocoy.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, on Thursday said Empase was driving his tricycle when unidentified suspects on board a motorcycle fired at him several times around 8:45 p.m.

He said the victim sustained multiple wounds and died on the spot while the suspects fled.

Police recovered from the scene of the crime five empty shells of unidentified firearms.

Investigation showed the victim was on his way home along with his cousin when the gunman fired at him using unidentified firearms.

Pico said Empase’s cousin, who managed to escape, was unhurt.

He said they are eyeing personal grudges as a possible motive in the killing of the victim.

The investigators of Police Station 9 are still conducting further investigation to determine the identity of the suspects.
