Binalbagan mayor’s brother stabbed

A BROTHER of Mayor Emmanuel Aranda of Binalbagan in Negros Occidental was stabbed in the town's Barangay Payao on February 23.

Wounded was Domingo Aranda Jr., 65, of Barangay Tongo, Himamaylan City.

Investigation showed the victim was seen sleeping by suspect Macario Parciro, 52, of Barangay Cabadiangan, Himamaylan City, at the health center around 11 p.m. Thursday, February 22.

Parciro tried to awaken the victim to tell him to go home. However, when the victim woke up, he allegedly got mad.

Parciro left and went to the public plaza to have a drinking session with friends.

When he returned to the health center, he saw the victim was still asleep and stabbed him using a buckle knife. Aranda sustained a lone stab wound in the stomach.

The victim was brought by a village watchman to a hospital in Bacolod City, while Parciro was arrested in a hot pursuit operation.

Meanwhile, in Cauayan town, a male teenager was stabbed by a 15-year-old boy in Purok 1, Barangay Tuyom, around 11:40 p.m. of February 23.

Police identified the victim as Jazz Omison, 18, of the said village.

Police records showed that Omison got involved in a fistfight between two groups of minors inside the public plaza during a benefit dance.

The suspect escaped.
