Boy, 10, drowns in river

A 10-YEAR-OLD boy died after he drowned in Ginsang-an river in Purok Kaburihan, Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City Monday afternoon, February 22.

Police withheld the name of the minor-victim.

Police records showed the victim, along with his six companions, went swimming in Ginsang-an river. The victim, who had no ability to swim, went to a deep portion of the river.

The victim's companions told the police that they saw the victim struggling in the water and disappeared.

They sought assistance, but when they returned the victim already drowned. His body was recovered around 7:20 p.m.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
