Boy, 15, dies after being trapped under truck

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy died after he was trapped when their truck loaded with sand and gravel fell on its side along Granada-Alangilan Road, Barangay Granada, Bacolod City Wednesday morning, September 1, 2021.

Police identified the fatality as John Ray Cabalhin of Barangay Felisa, Bacolod City.

Police records showed Bobby Cabalhin, 42, a father of the victim, was driving the Fuso truck loaded with sand and gravel along with his son when the brake of the truck malfunctioned around 10 a.m.

Police said John Ray jumped off the truck, but the truck loaded with sand and gravel hit on the gutter and fell on its side and he was trapped.

The victim was rescued and was brought to the Metro Bacolod Medical Center, but he did not survive.

Investigation showed that Bobby lost control of the truck when its brake malfunctioned.
