THE Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) is now strictly implementing the "no terminal" policy at the downtown area, its head Major Junji Liba said Wednesday, August 3, 2022.

Liba said the public utility jeepneys (PUJs) are only allowed to pick up and unload passengers but are prohibited to stay longer in an area as stipulated under City Ordinance 338.

"We are only implementing the city ordinance to address the traffic congestion at the downtown area," he said.

Liba said they are still conducting operations along Luzuriaga, Gonzaga, Gatuslao, Araneta and Lacson Streets to ensure that PUJs do not stay in these areas longer.

Previously, PUJs were allowed to park at the downtown area because of an existing memorandum of agreement between (MOA) the jeepney driver associations and City Government.

But since it is now expired, it is no longer allowed, he said.

"It depends on the driver's association if they will renew the MOA, but for now they are not allowed to park at the downtown area," the official said.

He added they will deploy traffic enforcers along with their supervisors to monitor the area.
