Businessman injured in robbery

A BUSINESSMAN was injured when a lone robber shot him at San Carlos City, Negros Occidental shortly after noontime Thursday, May 26, 2022.

Injured was Aladin Alcorin, 42, of the city’s Barangay Prosperidad Proper, the police said.

Joannie Marquez, 42, of Barangay Mansilingan in Bacolod City and employed as a saleswoman of Columbia Marketing Corp., told the police that she was delivering goods to Alcorin’s store when the suspect arrived.

Marquez said the suspect, clad in a red sweatshirt and jeans, approached her and forcibly grabbed her bag containing P121,079 in cash.

Seeing what happened, Alcorin tried to help her, but the suspect shot him using an undetermined caliber of firearm, hitting his stomach, San Carlos City deputy police chief of San Carlos City Lieutenant Ruby Aurita said.

Aurita said Alcorin was not hospitalized as he sustained minor wounds, whilethe suspect boarded a black motorcycle driven by his companion and fled towards Barangay Quezon Road.

As of Friday, she said they are still investigating the case and have no identity of the suspects yet.
