NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said Monday, May 10, that they have yet to receive advice from the National Government as to when they will receive the next allocated shipment of Covid-19 vaccines for the province.

After the arrival of the CoronaVac vaccines from Chinese biotech Sinovac on May 1, Lacson said they have no idea yet as to how many of the two million AstraZeneca vaccines that arrived last Saturday, May 8, will be given for the province.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said earlier on Saturday that the vaccines will be distributed nationwide once the doses are accounted for.

Over two million doses of AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine arrived in the Philippines through the Covax facility on May 8.

The shipment of 2,030,400 is the second batch of AstraZeneca vaccines to arrive in the country through Covax. The first shipment of 526,000 doses arrived in the country in March.
