Capitol proposes P4.4-B budget for 2020

PROVINCIAL Budget Officer Jose Percival Salado revealed yesterday that the Executive Department will submit to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan a proposed budget for year 2020 in the amount of P4.4 billion.

The proposed budget is about ten percent higher than this year's budget.

The proposed budget was up for signing yesterday by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Salado said.

Salado said that the proposed budget will come from the 2020 Internal Revenue Allotment of the province amounting to P3.72 billion and the rest will be sourced from the Economic Enterprise Development Department and other local income.

He also revealed that province will make the Negros First Residences and the Pala-Pala Food Terminal which is expected to be fully operational next year.

After the Executive Department's submission of the proposed budget, the SP is expected to conduct budget hearing for scrutiny before the passage.

Salado said that there will be increases in the EEDD fund allocations as well as the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenditures, Gender Advocacy and Development, Calamity fund among others.

On Personnel Services, Salado said that it would be on status quo after the provincial government’s full implementation of the Salary Standardization Law from 2018 to 2019.
