Capitol to release 5th tranche salary increase in February

Sunnexdesk

NEGROS Occidental Acting Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said on Monday, January 21, the provincial government will release the fourth and last tranche of the salary increase in February.

This, after the Department of Budget and Management has already given the go signal for the local government units to release the fourth tranche of the salary hike.

Gelvolea said the increase would depend on the salary grade of the employees.

She said the budget for the salary increase was already included in the 2019 annual budget of the province and that the Human Resource Office has already prepared the notice of salary adjustment.

While the employees and officials under the local government units may already enjoy the last tranche of their salary increase, the employees under the national government could not yet receive their increase because the national budget is still pending approval as the bicameral committee has yet to resolve the issue on pork barrel and insertions.

Meanwhile, Gelvolea said that aside from the salary increase, the more than 2,000 Capitol employees will also receive their clothing allowance amounting to P6,000 each on March. (TDE)

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
