Ceneco reduces rate, collection efficiency improving

Teresa D. Ellera

SULPICIO Lagarde, general manager of Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco), confirmed the reduction of electricity rates at 28 centavos per kilowatt hour (kWh) for residential consumers this month.

From the August rate of P12.1384/kWh, this month is reduced at P11.8574/kWh.

Meanwhile, Lagarde also said the firm’s collection efficiency is also improving because of the start of the milling season in the province.

But he said that despite the dead season in the previous months, Ceneco has not availed of any loan to cover for their collection shortfall.

Moreover, Ceneco, in partnership with Alvio Business Center, has opened four new accredited payment centers in Bacolod City, located in Alvio Business Center at Lot 719, Araneta Street in Barangay Sum-ag; Zeirnie Business Center at Block 2 Lot 1 Villa Alexandria I in Barangay Estefania; C.T. Torres Bill Payment Center at corner Yulo-Hernaez Street in Barangay 16; and Geep Construction Supply and Services at St. Jude Street in Greensville II, Barangay Villamonte.
