Commercial sex worker hurt in stabbing

A COMMERCIAL sex worker was injured after she was stabbed by a tricycle driver inside a lodging house on Corazon Aquino Street, Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City Wednesday evening, June 2, 2021.

Police Major Leo Estopa, chief of Police Station 6, on Thursday said the 37-year-old victim, whose name is being withheld, sustained multiple wounds after she was stabbed by her unidentified male companion inside a lodging house.

He said the victim along with the suspect, who was on board a tricycle, occupied a room in a lodging house around 9:50 p.m.

He added around 10:40 p.m., the victim ordered intoxicating liquor. After several minutes, the suspect attacked her using an improvised pointed steel rod and fled using the tricycle as his getaway vehicle.

The victim sustained multiple wounds. She was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital. She is now in stable condition.

Estopa said they are still conducting further investigation to determine the identity of the suspect.
