Coop in La Castellana gets P4.7M worth of project

NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson turned over the symbolic checks amounting to a total of 4,744,400 to La Castellana 1 – Personnel Multi-Purpose Cooperative to fund the Negros Swine Integrated Enterprise under the Philippine Rural Development (PRDP).

The amount is part of the total project cost that includes the enterprise and infrastructure of the project located in Barangay Robles, La Castellana, managed by the LC1 – PMPC together with cluster members.

The Investments for Rural Enterprises, and Agricultural and Fisheries Productivity (I-REAP) or Enterprise Development Component is one of the components of the PRDP that aims to strengthen and develop viable agriculture and fishery-based enterprises by providing technical, financial and infrastructure support to eligible groups in targeted project areas within the priority value chains.

The cooperative was represented by its chairperson, Judith Obordo.

Also present during the turn over were Western Visayas PRDP Deputy Project Director Engr. Albert Barrogo, Provincial Project Management and Implementing Unit Head and Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Dr. Ma. Lina Sanogal and Lorna Dumancas of LC1 – PMPC.
