AN ESTIMATED P680,000 worth of suspected shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust operation by the team of the Special Operations Unit-Western Visayas and Police Station 6 along Napoleon Street in Barangay 31, Bacolod City Sunday, September 19, 2021.

The operation led to the arrest of Rolly Moncillo of Barangay 14; and Inocentes Villanueva of Barangay Cabanbanan in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Police Major Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer around 3 p.m.

He said the suspects' companion, identified as Ericson Abillana, 29, of Barangay 40, evaded arrest, sensing the presence of authorities in the area.

Police recovered from the suspects' possession 20 sachets of shabu weighing about 100 grams and P1,000 in marked money and a .22 caliber revolver loaded with one live ammunition.

The police also seized the taxi used by the suspects.

Gabana said Moncillo was identified as a high-value individual in Bacolod City.

He said Moncillo was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspects were detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 6. Police said they will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
