Covid-19 cases in Negros Occidental steadily declining

The cases of Covid-19 in the province have been declining and in fact, isolated individuals at the provincial healing center at Mambukal Resort in Murcia are only 15, Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz said yesterday.

"With the number of cases steadily declining the province may revert back to the less strict Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) by next month", Diaz said.

As of July 26, Negros Occidental's active Covid-19 cases are at 1,381.

Bacolod City, meanwhile, has 1,216 active cases.

"It's better to air in the side of caution than to be careless," Diaz added.

Diaz also said yesterday that only 15 Covid-19 patients remain isolated at Mambukal Resort in Barangay Minoyan in Murcia.

According to Diaz the number of provincial employees being infected with Covid-19 is becoming lesser and he believes it is the effect of the provincial government's vaccination program for its employees.

"We have become more resistant against the virus," Diaz said.

Diaz said they are hoping they'll be able to receive another substantial amount of vaccines from the national government so they could inoculate the remaining Capitol employees. (TDE)
