Covid-19 cases rising again in Negros Occidental

Teresa D. Ellera

NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the province have begun to pick up again.

"From 93, the cases went up to 104 already," Lacson said.

He attributed the increase to the return of locally stranded individuals after the lifting of the moratoriums imposed by local government units.

Lacson cited the case of Cebu, which showed a recent spike in Covid-19 cases.

As of January 9, Negros Occidental had 104 active cases, a report from the Provincial Incident Management Team showed.

San Carlos City had the most number of cases at 30.

The towns of Don Salvador Benedicto, Hinobaan, San Enrique and La Carlota City logged zero cases.
