Danny Fajardo, Panay News founder, dies at 72

DANIEL “Danny” Fajardo, founder of regional newspaper Panay News, has passed away on Monday night, September 10 at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, according to a statement published in Panay News.

He was 72.

Fajardo, who had served as publisher and editor-in-chief of the Iloilo-based paper for decades, is considered one of the pillars of Western Visayas media, the statement said.

He was president of the Iloilo Press Club for several terms and hosted the radio program “Reklamo Publiko,” it added.

Details on the interment will be announced later.
