Dead infant almost thrown in dumpsite

A dead female infant was found inside a box and was almost thrown at the dump site at Barangay Concepcion in Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Friday, November 12.

Investigation showed that a security guard of the dumpsite, whose name was not disclosed, informed them about the discovery of the infant’s dead body at about 10 a.m.

Police Master Sergeant Reginaldo Suelto, the investigator, said the garbage collector, who was also not named, told the police that they were already about to throw the collected garbage at the dump site in Hacienda Daet when they noticed the box tied with a straw.

When they opened it, they found the dead infant placed inside a black eco-bag, he added.

Based on the initial findings, the dead infant could be between six to seven months old.

Investigation is still ongoing to ascertain where did the dead infant came from and who is the one responsible for throwing it.*
