NEGROS Occidental Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said several hospitals in the province are still capable of accepting admissions.

Diaz made the statement after it was reported that the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital (TLJPH) in Silay City has reached its total capacity.

The provincial official assured those who have fallen ill and require hospitalization to visit the other provincial government-operated hospitals such as the Cadiz District Hospital in Cadiz City.

He said most of the Covid-19 positive patients in the province, who don't require hospitalization, have been brought to the Provincial Healing Center in E.B. Magalona.

He also reported that even though three doctors of the TLJPH have tested positive for the virus, the other medical personnel in the hospital have tested negative.

Diaz said those who have previously tested positive have undergone another round of swab test on Friday.

He further clarified that the health care workers in the province remain willing in treating patients even if they are Covid-19 patients or non-Covid patients.

Diaz added those who have emergency cases including pregnant women who are about to give birth are not allowed to be held and are not required to show their swab results before undergoing treatment.
