Drug bust nets P68K ‘shabu’

An estimated P68,000 worth of suspected shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 7at Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City at about 9:40 p.m. Saturday, September 11.

The police said the operation led to the arrest of Geraldine Ereje, 22, of Purok Maanyag 2 at Barangay Alijis after she allegedly sold a sachet of shabu to a police poseur buyer.

Ereje’s companion John Paul Rodriguez, 28, of said village, however, evaded arrest when he noticed that they were dealing with police operatives.

Additional three sachets of what is believed to be shabu weighing 10 grams and the marked money were recovered from Ereje following her arrest.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 7.

Ereje will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

She has no comment. (MAP)
