Drug den dismantled, 5 arrested in Barangay 27 drug bust

THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Western Visayas dismantled a suspected drug den and arrested five persons in a drug bust in Purok Cheriza II, Barangay 27, Bacolod City Wednesday afternoon, July 28.

Arrested were Chona Diaz, alleged drug den maintainer; James Diaz; Rech Buenvenida; Ryan Molina; and Mayrose Molina, all residents of Bacolod City.

The suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer around 1:40 p.m.

Authorities recovered from the suspects seven sachets of shabu weighing 10 grams with an estimated market value of P68,000, the marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

PDEA's records showed Chona Diaz was identified as the suspected drug den maintainer on Purok Cheriza II.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of PDEA. They are facing charges for violation of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11 and 12 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
