Drug den dismantled, 9 persons arrested in Bacolod

THE joint team of the Special Operation Unit (SOU)-Western Visayas of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) dismantled a suspected drug den and arrested nine persons in a drug bust in Purok Tilapia, Barangay 3, Bacolod City on Friday evening, July 9, 2021.

The operation was led by operatives of SOU-Western Visayas under the direct supervision of Police Lieutenant Colonel Jimmy Laguyo and Police Station 2 led by Lieutenant Andy Ofalia.

The suspects were identified as Jomar Guion, 29, Carla Guion, 20, Rodgie Ignacio, 26, John Raphael Guion, 29, George Salunatin, 32, Joelie May Bolonia, Joren Guion, 26, all residents of Barangay 3; Bryan Matos, 35, and Raymar Catid, both residents of Barangay 2.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession four sachets of shabu weighing seven grams with an estimated market value of P54,000, the P500 marked money, P500 cash, and drug paraphernalia.

Ofalia said Jomar, a suspected drug maintainer, was under surveillance for almost a month before he was arrested, while his companions were caught inside the house.

He said the suspects, who were detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2, will be charged Monday for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
