NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson distributed P6.9 million cash assistance to senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) from the different towns and cities of the province during the 25th Elderly Filipino Week celebration held at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose Activity Center (Nompac) in Bacolod City on October 24.

Each of the senior citizens and PWDs received P3,000 through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.

The celebration started with a Walk-for-Life from Ayala Mall going to Nompac where the program was held.

Lacson said the Provincial Government under his administration is always supportive of the projects and programs that benefit the senior citizens and PWDs.

He urged them to take good care of their health for them to be able to enjoy life more as they age.

The theme for the day's celebration is “Health productive aging starts with me.” (PR)
