Ex-rebels turn over firearms in Cadiz

FORMER rebels from the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Bongcayao Brigade (RPA-ABB) voluntarily turned over their firearms to the Cadiz City police Saturday morning, September 7.

Based on information provided by the Cadiz City police, the turnover was facilitated by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process, the Police Regional Office-Western Visayas, the Philippine Army 303rd Infantry Brigade, and the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force.

The 36 former RPA-ABB members are reportedly part of the Tabulara-Paduano Group.

In total, the rebels turned over two machine guns, 19 long firearms, 20 short firearms, one M203 grenade launcher with 16 40mm explosive cartridges, and assorted ammunition.
