A MAN and his son died while two others were injured after they were figured in an accident in Barangay Tabu, Ilog, Negros Occidental on Saturday, January 19.

Police identified the fatalities as Joemarie Aguirre, 45, and his son Anthony, 9, both residents of the said village.

Wounded were motorcycle driver Legery Romero, 19, of Kabankalan City and Reynald Lacson, 41, of Ilog town.

Investigation showed that the four victims were on their way to a funeral wake in Cauayan town when they hit the rear part of a parked truck loaded with sugarcane. It has no warning device.

All victims were rushed to a hospital but the father and son were not able to survive.

Romero admitted they were drunk when the accident happened. He was also driving without a driver’s license, police records showed. (Christopher D. Yanson, CHMSC-Talisay intern)
