THE City Government of Bacolod will provide a free live viewing in the eight barangays of the match between Philippine ring icon and Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao and Adrien Broner in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 19.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia, who will carry the Philippine flag during the fight, said on Monday, January 14, the free live viewing will be at the Bacolod Arts Youth and Sports Center and gymnasiums of Barangays Sum-ag, Banago, Taculing, Mansilingan, Handumanan, Villamonte, and Granada.

Leonardia said he will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada this week.

He was invited by Pacquaio to be part of his team. The boxing champ said he is inspired to do his best when he can feel the support of his fellow Filipinos and especially his family and friends in the crowd.

“In all the Pacquiao’s fight, I never use government funds. It’s a personal expense. I’ve been a mayor for 15 years and I’d never use government funds to travel abroad,” Leonardia said.

Former Philippine National Police chief Ronald “Bato” de la Rosa will also carry Pacquiao’s belt.

Leonardia said Pacquiao is an extraordinary boxer and he believes that Pacquiao still has the power to knock out his opponent. (MAP)
