Free WiFi available at BCGC

Merlinda A. Pedrosa

FREE internet connection is now available at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC), Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said Wednesday, January 25.

Benitez, on his Facebook Page, said the public can now access the free Wifi by connecting to the MABB Wifi network.

He said the free Wifi was operated by the GNET Network Solution and Data Solutions.

The public can only avail one-hour connectivity subscription per day and once the subscription limit is reached, users can access the free Wifi on the following day.

Benitez said this project aims to help users conduct online communication, quick and chill-time surfing, and emergency connections while touring the BCGC grounds.

Aside from the BCGC, he said the city will also provide free internet connection at the city’s Old City Hall at the corner of Araneta and Luzuriaga Streets and the public plaza.

In 2016, the City Council approved City Ordinance 09-16-788, or an ordinance providing accessible and secured wireless internet connection in designated public places of Bacolod City and certain offices of the City Government.*
