A FORMER policeman wanted for robbery and illegal possession of firearms was arrested after police tracked down his location on Lapaz Street in Barangay 1 Poblacion, La Carlota City on Monday, February 8.

Police identified the arrested suspect as Anecio Lapara Jr.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said Lapra was a member of the Philippine Constabulary Class of 1988 and was absorbed in the PNP in 1991.

He was then separated from the service in 1999 and allegedly led a criminal gang operating in Central and Eastern Visayas.

Lapara has three separate criminal cases involving robbery and illegal possession of firearms and has also previously bolted out of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology facility in Ormoc City, Leyte prior to his trial proceedings.

He was also listed under the National Most Wanted Person with Reward List.

Lapara is expected to be transported back to Ormoc City to face trial.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N.
