CHIEF Inspector Edison Garcia is the new public information officer (PIO) of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) effective Wednesday, January 9.

Garcia succeeded Senior Inspector Aireen Cordua, who returns to her original post as chief of the administrative office.

Prior to his new assignment, Garcia was detailed at the Provincial Intelligence Branch office of Nocppo.

Cordua served as PIO of Nocppo for almost six months since June 2018, replacing Inspector Charmae De Paz who underwent schooling.

The movement of personnel came after Senior Superintendent Romeo Baleros assumed the Nocppo directorship on Monday, January 7, replacing Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil Jr., who was moved to Police Regional Office-Western Visayas in Iloilo City as head of the Regional Intelligence Branch.
