GOVERNOR Eugenio Jose Lacson is set to deliver his first 100 days report to the people of Negros next week.

Lacson marked his first 100 days for his first term as governor of the province on October 9.

In his first 100 days, Lacson has created the African Swine Fever Task Force amid the threat against the ASF virus and the Provincial Dengue Task Force after the surge in the number of dengue cases in the province.

Meanwhile, Lacson emphasizes honesty and integrity to pursue discipline and efficiency in government.

Lacson said that ending corruption is the best way to maximize the economic potential of the Philippines.

Lacson made the emphasis in a forum "Promoting Business Partnerships and Good Governance in the Visayas Region" organized by Logic Network where he was asked to talk on the role of governments in building competitiveness held at the Negros First Hostel.

"Corruption siphons our economy with billions of pesos we cannot afford to lose," Lacson said.

The forum was attended by more than a hundred participants from all over the Visayas Region representing local government units and business sector.

Other speakers were Marcelo Cacho, head of Public Engagement and Government Affairs, Panay Electric Company, Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores, and Guimaras Governor Samuel Gumarin.

Lacson also said "As to corruption, it leads to the erosion of public trust and integrity, and with regards to economic consequence to losses in possible investments and trade."

He further said that from the point of view of investors corruption and low integrity discourage honest companies from investing in that country.
