Grupo Progreso to announce line-up soon

Merlinda A. Pedrosa

BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio Leonardia said Monday, September 24, they will announce the complete line-up of Grupo Progreso (GP) in due time before the filing of the certificate of candidacy on October 11 to 17 for the 2019 elections.

“We have a line-up and it’s already complete. We will decide together on when we will make an announcement.” Leonardia said.

He said it’s their dream that their line-up will be strong as it can because they want to come up with a 15-0 victory in 2019 elections.

“Not just for our cause, but for the city because we believe that if our city officials are working together, there will be more projects to be implemented and for the fastest growth of the city,” he added.

Congressman Greg Gasataya had said some members of the local political group Magbinuligay Kita sa Kauswagan (MKK) might be joining GP for the 2019 elections.

Councilor Ana Marie Palermo, a member of MKK, earlier announced she will join GP as well as former councilor Carlos Jose Lopez, a former member of GP.

The mayor recalled that in the 2016 elections, they were 15 in the group. Of the 15, 14 are still in a group except for Councilor Ricardo Tan.

Tan had announced he is considering to run for mayor in the 2019 elections.
