High-value target yields over P700,000 'shabu'

A HIGH-VALUE target was arrested with P714,000 worth of substance believed to be shabu in a subdivision in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City past midnight Wednesday, January 19.

Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana identified the suspect as Oliver Hong, 49, of Purok Zone 2, Barangay Handumanan,

Hong was reportedly arrested in a buy-bust operation at the Villa Angela Subdivision after he transacted to sell sachets of shabu in exchange for P3,000.

Fifteen sachets of the banned substance weighing about 105 grams, the marked money, and a pouch with undetermined content were recovered from Hong.

The operation was jointly conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit and Philippine National Police Drugs Enforcement Group-Western Visayas.

Hong, who is now detained at the Police Station 4 facility, will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Anti-Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
