Hubby stabs wife to death in front of kids

JEALOUSY allegedly triggered a sickly husband to stab dead his live-in partner in front of their children at Barangay Camang-Camang in Isabela town, Negros Occidental yesterday, October 17.

Capt. Joseph Partidas, town police chief, identified the victim as Digna Bordago, 65, of Sitio Kalubihan in the barangay.

Partidas said Bordago died on the spot from a fatal wound on her chest.

The suspect Fredo Camacho of Sitio Mantabanon fled after committing the crime towards the vast sugarcane plantation bringing with him the bladed weapon he used in killing his live-in partner.

Investigation conducted by Corporal Alfred John Lirazan showed that Bordago and his two children, both minors, went to the sugarcane plantation to work past 5:30 a.m.

“Few minutes later, the suspect followed them and stabbed the victim without provocation,” Partidas said.

He noted that one of the couple’s relatives said that the two do not quarrel but the suspect got jealous when his wife decided to leave and stay at the house of one of their children.

Partidas also said that the suspect has no work since he is suffering from arthritis.

“We are also trying to check if there are other motives aside from jealousy,” the police said.

As of yesterday, the couple’s children are yet to decide whether they will file charges against their father.

Camacho remains at large as of press time.*
