NEGROS Occidental governor-elect Eugenio Jose Lacson revealed on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, that his administration can already decide what to do with the controversial Animal Hub because it is now an asset of the Provincial Government.

Lacson said that he was told by Governor Alfredo Marañon that the province has already took possession of the Animal Hub.

“I will inquire with the Provincial Legal Office about the status of the building,” Lacson said.

The Animal Hub which is located at the Panaad Park and Stadium was built without any permit from the Provincial Government.

The construction was discovered after an anonymous contractor questioned its legality. It came ahead of the supposed procedure on the plans of the province to put up a P10 million structure at the same location for the Provincial Veterinary Office.

Eva Reso-or, a supplier at the Capitol took responsibility over the construction of the controversial Animal Hub and admitted that nobody from the Capitol has given her the permit to erect the building which is about 80 percent complete.

“We will make sure that it is really now in the possession of the province,” Lacson said. (TDE)
