Lacson is acting governor

NEGROS Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson is acting governor since yesterday, June 25 up to June 29 as Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. is on vacation leave.

The designation is to ensure continuous and effective delivery of basic and social services, the order said.

"I have no idea where he will go or will he actually leave the province," Lacson said.

He said that senior Board Member Salvador Escalante Jr. will be the presiding officer during the regular session of the Provincial Board on Wednesday, June 27.

Meanwhile, Lacson refused to reveal the result of the investigation of the fact-finding team formed by Marañon on the controversial Negros First Animal Hub at the Panaad Park and Stadium.

“As I have said earlier, let us allow the governor to announce the result of the investigation. What is clear is that the fact-finding team has done its work and it is really up to the governor now,” he pointed out.
