NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Lacson on Wednesday, October 14, 2021, granted the request of Philippine Airlines (PAL) for special flights for fully vaccinated individuals from October 18 to November 29, 2021.

Lacson said he informed PAL-Bacolod Manager Rene Aviles that their request dated October 12, 2021, was already approved.

Aviles sought the permission of Lacson to allow fully vaccinated individuals to travel from Manila to Bacolod.

All passengers will avail of a special discounted rate of P3,750 all-in-fare without undergoing a reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test.

The scheduled flights will depart from Manila around 8 a.m. and arrive at the Bacolod-Silay Airport in Silay City around 9:20 a.m., every Monday and Friday only, starting October 18, 2021 until November 29, 2021.

Provincial Consultant Alfredo Benitez said PAL’s special flights will also cater to residents of Bacolod City, considering that the city government will also no longer require RT-PCR tests for fully vaccinated residents.

Selling of tickets for these special flights will start October 14 and will be available on selected travel agents and PAL direct ticket offices only, and not through their website.

Aviles said the purpose of the special flights is to help promote the vaccination program of the government.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
