Lacson presents 7-point agenda to NIRFTI

NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose "Bong" Lacson introduced his 7-point agenda, Abanse Negrense, to Negros Island Region Teachers Federation, Inc. (NIRTFI).

The governor presented it during the 73rd Annual Representative Assembly of NIRTFI held at the NOTF Multi-Purpose Activity Center in Bacolod City Saturday, July 13.

Lacsonís 7-point agenda includes agriculture and food security; building of infrastructure, roads and other structures; advancement of economic, trade, investment and employment opportunities; nurturing of public health by creating responsive hospital and other social services; sustainable environmental management and tourism development; education, culture, sports and ICT and Negrense brand of good governance and human development.

The governor thanked the Negrense teachers for their selfless effort in educating and molding the children of Negros Occidental.

He said, "It is his priority to strengthen the education programs of the Provincial Government, particularly the Project Free program that aims to support and update the teaching force of public school teachers by providing them with free post graduate studies."

ìYou, teachers and educators are our nation-builders,î Lacson also said.

He added that the teachers can always come to the provincial government to seek support for programs that are responsive to the needs of time.

The governor also urged the teachers to take their calling by heart because humanity in general is dependent on them, adding that teaching is not an easy job but a fulfilling one.
