Lawyer says resignation as Kabankalan City administrator a ‘sacrificial act’

Teresa D. Ellera

FORMER Board Member lawyer Reynaldo "Nolan" Novero has resigned as administrator of Kabankalan City.

In his resignation letter to Kabankalan City Mayor Benjie Miranda dated September 28, 2022, Novero said he believes that this “sacrificial act of resigning will operate for the good of the city and for all Kabankalanons which is the only thing foremost in my mind.”

“For this reason, I pray that God will give you the wisdom in our dream to promote and protect the general welfare of our constituents,” he told Miranda in his letter.

Novero was one of the city officials appointed by Miranda upon assumption to office as a neophyte mayor of the city this year.

Miranda, a former barangay captain, won by only 278 votes against then incumbent Mayor Pedro Zayo.

He garnered 36,889 votes against Zayco's 36,611 in the last May elections.

Both Miranda and Novero could not be reached for comment as of press time.

The administration of Miranda has been marred with controversy about his hiring of employees who are not from Kabankalan City.*
