Legal officer on raps vs guv: Retaliatory tactics

Teresa D. Ellera

PROVINCIAL Legal Officer Alberto Nellas Jr. described Monday, December 21, as retaliatory tactics the filing of administrative complaints against Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson before the Office of the President by lawyer Ernie Magaspag.

Magaspag, according to Nellas, accused Lacson of alleged irregularities.

Nellas said they already forwarded their reply to the allegations of Magaspag to the Office of the President, stressing also that all the issuances have been reviewed by the Provincial Legal Office, and in accordance with the law.

He also stressed that there is no evidence to prove alleged irregularities, contrary to claims.

The filing of administrative complaints against Lacson came after Magaspag, who was assigned at the Provincial Legal Office, was dismissed from the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental due to administrative cases, Nellas said.

Three other former Capitol department heads are also being investigated by the Provincial Legal Office.

Nellas also said that he is not aware of any complaints filed against Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz by Magaspag.
