THE local government units (LGUs) participating in the "MassKara sa Panaad" event next month started to clean up their respective pavilions at the Panaad Park and Stadium at Barangay Mansilingan in Bacolod City.

Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II said, yesterday September 15, that the provincial government is now processing the P100,000 cash assistance promised by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson for the participating LGUs, although he does not have the exact number of LGUs participating yet.

For his part, Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo "Albee" Benitez noted that almost all of the 31 LGUs have expressed their intention to participate in the "MassKara sa Panaad."

Benitez said the event would be the first time that both the City Government of Bacolod City and Provincial Government of Negros Occidental will participate in the MassKara Festival.

"It really shows that Bacolod City and Negros Occidental have already collaborated and are working together for the good of everyone," he said.

Benitez said the "MassKara sa Panaad" event is a welcome sign and shows the harmonious relationship between both the city and province.

“MassKara sa Panaad” will run from October 10 to 16, 2022.*

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
