List of Bacolod bets for 2019 elections released

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) released the tentative certified list of Bacolod City candidates for 2019 elections.

City Election Registrar Mavil Majarucon-Sia said on Monday, November 26, the list was released by the Comelec law department on November 19.

The certified candidates for congressman were incumbent Representative Greg Gasataya, former Bacolod City mayor Monico Puentevella, and Kevin Moises.

For mayor, the candidates are incumbent Mayor Evelio Leonardia, former councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, and Ray Carmona.

For vice mayor, incumbent Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran and former vice mayor Thaddeus Sayson are the names listed.

The candidates for councilors are Alan Arroyo, Homer Bais, Edwin Balajadia, Archie Baribar, Willy David Simple Distrito, Reynaldo Ebreo, Al Espino, Celia Flor, Rommel Jamero, Paulo Lacson, Carl Lopez, Bobby Montelibano, Israel Salanga, Bernabe Sibug, Marlon Solidum, Rico Villafuerte, Elmer Villanueva, Jason Villarosa, and incumbent Councilors Wilson Gamboa Jr., Renecito Novero, Bartolome Orola, Ana Marie Palermo, Claudio Puentevella, Dindo Ramos, Cindy Rojas, and Elmer Sy.

Majarucon-Sia said they have until November 29 to accept an application for withdrawal of the candidate’s candidacy.

She said that in Bacolod City, only Leonardia is facing a disqualification complaint and it is up to the Comelec to act on it, and it will not affect their list. (MAP)
