THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is planning to transfer its satellite office in Bacolod City from Barangay Mansilingan to the Old City Hall on Luzuriaga Street.

Richard Osmeña, LTFRB regional director, said by the end of November, they will temporarily close their office in Barangay Mansilingan and they will open again by first quarter of February 2020.

"We will transfer to a new, better, and accessible location and by end of November, since there are no transactions, we will temporarily close our office and will open again in February," he said.

He added that they are still talking with the local government unit (LGU), and most probably they will transfer at the Old City Hall so that it will be accessible to everybody.

As soon as they transferred to the new location, Osmeña assured that he will assign about 10 personnel to accommodate the public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and operators.

Councilor Dindo Ramos, chairperson of the City Council committee on transportation, earlier asked the LTFRB not to close its satellite office in Bacolod.

Ramos said he received several complaints from PUV in the city that the LTFRB's satellite office in Barangay Mansilingan was already closed.

He said the LTFRB should continue running its office in the city for the benefit of public utility jeepney drivers and operators.

"The LTFRB's satellite office is very important because Bacolod City has a huge volume of registered vehicles compared to Iloilo City," he added.

In 2018, the LTFRB opened its satellite office in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, to cater to PUV operators and other clients in the city.
