A HUSBAND in Sipalay City killed his own wife by choking her using a toner belt.

The victim was identified as Gerly Caldito, 44 years old of Barangay Camindangan, Sipalay City while the suspect was identified as Francisco Caldito.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. on July 10 inside the house of the couple in the said barangay.

Based on the report of the Sipalay City PNP, the couple has been quarreling over the suspect’s habit on excessive alcohol drinking. The same heated argument reportedly happened between the couple on July 10 and the suspect who was not able to control his temper choked his wife with the use of toner belt which resulted to the victim’s instantaneous death.

Recovered from the crime scene is one toner belt more or less two meters long.

The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the Sipalay City PNP after the accident. (TDE)
