Man drowns in well in Cauayan town

A 42-YEAR-OLD father drowned in a well in Barangay Isio, Cauayan town, Negros Occidental.

The victim was identified as June Jane Continedo, of the said barangay.

Based on police account, Cristopher Asarce, a resident of the same barangay, personally reported to Cauayan Police Station a drowning incident where the victim was found unconscious inside the water well.

The victim’s body was recovered by the town’s rescue team and brought to Cauayan District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival at around 9:00 a.m. June 17, 2019.

Meanwhile, a man was injured in a shooting incident on June 17 around 8:30 a.m. in Barangay Magballo, Kabankalan City.

The victim was identified as Esmeraldo Rebosana, 42 years old of the said barangay.

Based on police investigation, the victim and his wife Imelda Juanico were toiling their corn field when the suspects appeared and without any reason shot the victim using an unknown caliber of firearm hitting the victim twice on his stomach and once on his head.

The suspects left the area bringing along with them the weapon used. The victim was referred to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, Bacolod City for further medication.

The investigation also showed that there were three suspects that are still unidentified as of Tuesday.
