A MAN fell to his death from the third floor of SM City Bacolod on Tuesday, December 11.

Based on investigation of the Bacolod City Police Office, the 43-year-old man from Barangay Alijis allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the shopping mall’s third floor at 10:16 a.m.

The victim allegedly suffered from depression and had four suicide attempts previously, according to his wife.

He was rushed to a hospital but did not reach the hospital alive.

The management of SM City Bacolod, in a statement posted on Facebook, said the victim was "immediately attended to and brought to the nearby hospital by our emergency response team and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office. An investigation is currently ongoing."

May Castro, media and public relations manager of SM City Bacolod, said it was the third incident to have happened in the mall.

In February 2017, a 17-year-old boy believed to have “love problems” was injured after he jumped off from the second floor of the shopping mall.

In March 2016, a German national leaped to his death from the third floor after his Negrense partner allegedly duped him and left him brokenhearted.
