Man killed in Toboso shooting incident

A 40 YEAR-OLD resident of Toboso town was killed in a shooting incident on June 23.

The victim was identified as Federico Caballes of Barangay San Jose where the incident took place while the suspect was identified as John Rey Artajo, 22 years old also of the same place.

Initial investigation revealed that while the victim was inside their house, the suspect yelled from the outside challenging him to a fist fight. The victim confronted the suspect but the suspect shot the victim with the use of ‘sulpak’ hitting his left lower axillary area (armpit) which caused his instantaneous death.

The suspect fled after the incident.

Meanwhile a wanted person for murder was arrested by the Sagay City PNP on June 23 in Purok Paghida-it, Brgy. Bato, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

The suspect was identified by the Sagay City PNP as Joelito Dela Serna, 59, married and a resident of Brgy. Minapasok, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest for murder issued and signed by Judge Renato Munez of Regional Trial Court BR. 60, Cadiz City. No Bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

The suspect was placed under the custodial facility of Sagay City PNP for proper disposition.
