A MAN was arrested for allegedly cultivating suspected marijuana plants at his residence in Barangay Alicante, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental on Saturday, February 2.

Senior Inspector Jaynick Bermudez, town police chief, said they conducted a buy-bust operation against John Allen Lamayo,25, who allegedly sold seven sticks of suspected marijuana worth P200 to a police agent.

After which, the police were able to uproot seven fully grown suspected marijuana plants and recovered an improvised pipe.

Bermudez said Lamayo was placed under surveillance for three weeks.

He is categorized as a newly-identified drug personality, Bermudez said.

The suspect, according to Bermudez, claimed to be engaging in the said activity for the first time.

The plants are cultivated for three to four months, the town police chief said.

The recovered items were brought to the Regional Crime Laboratory in Iloilo City while Lamayo is subjected for a drug test at the same crime laboratory.

He will be facing charges for cultivation of marijuana which is considered as illegal drugs. (GYM)
