THE coronavirus disease (Covid-19) mass vaccination program for priority groups in Bacolod City resumes Monday, May 10, 2021, in SM City and Ayala Malls Capitol Central in the city.

On Friday, the Covid-19 Vaccination Council (CoVac), chaired by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, temporarily suspended the mass vaccination in SM City to reassess its protocols and procedures, including crowd control, to implement a more orderly and safer flow of vaccination.

On the following day, CoVac along with the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) held its vaccination program for priority groups in Ayala Malls Capitol Central.

The vaccination, which started on May 3 with a daily schedule from 10 a.m. to 5 p. m., aimed to accommodate remaining healthcare workers (A1), senior citizens (A2), and persons with comorbidities (A3) who have yet to receive Covid-19 vaccine jabs.

From May 3 to 6, the CoVac and EOC already inoculated a total of 1,690 individuals in SM City mass vaccination.

City Administrator Em Ang, executive director of EOC, said the free vaccination both at SM City and Ayala Malls Capitol Central will resume Monday.

She said they will accommodate only those who have completed their vaccination registration and have received a call or text from EOC of their confirmed appointments.

The schedule of vaccination is based on a first-come, first-served sequence in the order that the registration came into the City's database.

The Bacolod CoVac already administered a total of 12,473 doses of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines in the city.
