BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio Leonardia said on Thursday, December 27 the barangays that failed to submit their identified firework designated areas are not allowed to have fireworks display within their area on New Year’s Eve.

Leonardia said the city government will strictly implement the Executive Order No.28 issued by President Rodrigo Duterte which regulate and control the use of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices.

As of December 27, only 27 of the 61 barangays have submitted the lists of their identified fireworks display areas, he said.

These are Barangays 1, 2, 5, 8, 10,12, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 24, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33,38, 39, 41, Banago, Punta Taytay, Mansilingan, Cabug, Granada, Taculing, and Villamonte

Leonardia said it’s the responsibility of the barangay officials to submit their lists so their identified areas will be inspected by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

“If they fail to submit the lists, their constituents can join and witness the New Year’s Eve countdown at the Bacolod Government Center,” he said.

Executive Assistant Ernie Pineda earlier reiterated his reminder to all the barangay officials to submit their identified fireworks display areas before December 29.

Pineda said the identified fireworks display areas needs approval from BCPO and BFP. (MAP)
