Mentally ill man drowns in Cauayan

A MENTALLY ill person drowned in Cauayan while fishing on July 19.

The victim was identified by the Cauayan Municipal Police Station as Ryan Jay Galumalim, 21, single and resident of Purok 5, Barangay Caliling, Cauayan.

Based on the report of Cauayan Police Station, Romeo Galumalim, father of the victim, personally came to their office and reported that around 8 a.m. of July 19, the victim, who was mentally ill and has epilepsy, was seen at the drainage located at the back portion of their house fishing.

Around 11:30 a.m. of the same date, his father went to the area to check on the son but he only found his fishing tool and caught fish.

The father, with his wife Ruby, searched the area and found the victim’s body at about 10 meters away from the place where he was fishing.
